10 years ago Joshua Frankel suggested that I start thinking about something for the 10 year anniversary of The Wassaic Project that involved slag. It took me 10 years to do something, but eventually, I figured out what I wanted to make with advice from Jessica Dicarlo. I love these pieces because they're transforming trash into something beautiful and they're so tied to the land here in Wassaic. 

The slag is found in the earth and streams — my process is recovering industrial waste from the area for reuse.
