The book consisted of cutout paper dolls of Martha Washington, wife of the first American President George Washington. There was also a narrative that ran through the book. At one point the book touches on the fact that there were slaves that lived in the White House but ‘they were happy and treated well’. That collaged with the paper dolls are images pulled from other racist Black Americana sources. The titles of the works are pulled from the 1979 film \u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eAll That \u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eJazz\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e. Lines pulled from several of the music numbers serve as titles. These materials are combined to create a grand farce; that all was good back then, not too long ago, and now.
